There has been a rawhide recall

There have been 4 brands of rawhide bones/treats recalled. It doesn't matter what kind they are because you shouldn't be feeding rawhide of any kind anyways! They are extremely dangerous to your dog! They can choke, have an internal blockage or get cancer from the chemicals they spray on them. If you have any rawhide of any kind, THROW IT OUT!

Been awhile

Mary Ann

It's been awhile since my last dog show but these are a small representation of how well my dogs did. I never did show in confirmation with my Shepherds because the judges were looking for snipey, over-angulated dogs that did not resemble the original German Shepherd. Instead I wanted to show my dogs' intelligence and desire to please. These are all trophies for the high end obedience classes. Scent discrimination, retrieving over high jumps, off leash work etc.

Three for bling please

Went to Pet Planet for our very first collars yesterday. We made quite an entrance with 3 adorable puppies!

Vaccinations

Something to think about. Everyone has their own opinion on this. Just thought I'd pass this along.

Miss Yellow Off to Ontario!

I was so pleased to hear that Miss Yellow made it to Ontario safe and sound.  Usually I won't send them until after 10 weeks old if they have to fly but this case was different as her new owner flew here to pick her up.  It is much less traumatic going with someone as opposed to going as cargo.  When they go as cargo, they must be there 2-3 hours before the plane leaves and it can take up to an hour and a half to get them off the plane and into the cargo area.  Going as a "suitcase", you can drop them off just before you board and pick them up right away in the terminal building.  As it turned out, she was back with her owner five minutes after they landed.

I want to share with you part of the email I received from the owner.  I'm so PROUD of Miss Yellow and how she handled everything!

"You would have been very proud of her when we arrived at the airport.  I made her walk through the parking garage to the check in so that she could experience all of the different sights, sounds, people and objects and so that I could also save her along the way.  It took a long time to get through the airport due to all the attention she received.  Everyone was very impressed with how well behaved she was and there were an incredible number of people who commented on how incredibly cute she is.  She didn't flinch or get worked up about anything.  There was quite the variety of people in all sorts of attire and also walkers, large carts and wheelchairs.  Not much phased her.  She has occasionally held back when approaching something new like the crack at the door of an elevator (apparently that's a worrisome long way down!) but with a bit of encouragement and sometimes a gentle push she moves forward and the next time it's no big deal or just a curiosity.  She was happy to go into the crate and didn't cry as she was being taken into the back.  Nor did she get sick during the plane ride despite having eaten. In all fairness, she did have the Rescue Remedy, a pheromone collar and a comfort jacket on but still...She was bouncing around the crate and crying a bit when she came off the plane, however, she was much calmer and less freaked out than the middle aged spaniel that was with her.  When exiting the plane on the tarmac, I was able to walk near the crate as they took her into the terminal so she saw me within minutes of the plane stopping and I had her in hand within 5 minutes. Woo Ho little airports!"

Way to go Miss Yellow!  I'm so proud of you!!

TWO Gorgeous Angels!

https://www.facebook.com/trudy.blair.14/videos/10155114264810056/

This video was posted on my Facebook page by a repeat Angel owner.  Got one Angel.  Liked him so much they got another a couple of years later!

Thank you Trudy for sharing this cute video!  Your dogs look great!

Don't be fooled folks.  They don't come out like this.  It's obvious there has been a lot of work to get these 2 dogs to behave so well.  I give you perfect blank slates.  It's up to you what happens from there!
